Director Statement
Spending a whole year in Hsiang Yi from coming up the first idea to the premiere, it had been through some dramatic changes in the main idea of this film. At first the story was trying to criticize the absurd traditions in Taiwanese funeral. Gradually, it became to express more about how we respect the nature and learning the lesson that facing life and death in our life. The process may lost some original goals about this film, but this work truly shows the present personality of me as a creator.
