Summer Xinlei Yang is an independent film, TV, and commercial producer who speaks fluent English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Her films and commercials have won numerous awards and premiered at film festivals including Student Academy Award, Shanghai International Film Festival, San Sebastian International Film Festival, South by Southwest, Cannes Diversity Showcase, 20+ Academy Award Qualifying film festivals, and about 150+ other international and local film festivals. Summer is a UCLA alumnus who also completed her Master of Fine Arts degree in Producing at the American Film Institute Conservatory with the scholarship from the acclaimed Alfred Sloan Foundation.
Multiple films of Summer’s have been released on Amazon Prime. She used to serve as a consultant for the Amazon Studios original series Bosch, and also assisted in feature development at Blumhouse Productions. Summer is currently based in L.A. producing films and commercials. Summer has produced numerous American Advertising Awards and Telly Award-winning commercials projects with companies such as Intel, Tencent, Baidu, Youku, VIVO, OPPO, and more.
Recently, she is in development for three narrative feature films, in production for three feature documentaries, and in post-production for one documentary feature and one narrative feature film. One of the feature narrative projects in development, Fly Girl, has been selected by the Tribeca Film Institute Network Untold Story. The documentary feature, Brainwashed is sponsored by the Disney family; and another documentary feature, Baima Boy, is selected by one of the biggest Asian documentary film development Lab CNEX. In early 2021, Summer produced another multi-nation narrative feature that was presented by the award-winning production company Indian Paintbrush, and produced by the Pulitzer Award Nominee, Noah benShae, and Oscar-winning producer, Steven Rales.
